Be as short as physically possible for a low profile with great communications range. Must be professional looking on the portable radio or on a public safety service microphone. Use a 1/4-32 threaded male stud connection to properly fit Motorola brand portable radios. Exhibit an excellent resonance with a very low VSWR of 1.5:1 or less over the advertised UHF frequency variation choice. Must maintain all specifications over the temperature range of -10 to +120 degrees Fahrenheit. Have maximum communications range when used with a remote speaker microphone or with other external audio accessories. Our antennas actually outperform the mass produced competitors 6 to 6-3/4 inch long 450 MHz UHF antennas since each of our antennas are custom retuned by hand for optimum performance over a very specific frequency range with greater precision and accuracy. VSWR is the efficiency measurement ratio of RF power that is being converted into radio waves by the antenna system as compared to the RF power that is not converted and reflected back into the radio as wasted energy. Lower antenna VSWR values will permit maximum transmitter signal output and better received signals. A VSWR of 1.5:1 has been and still is the customary maximum upper limit used in professional land mobile radio communications to determine a good transfer of RF power. Any VSWR above 1.6:1 is poor and any VSWR above 2:1 is definitely bad for performance and the health of the radio RF power output amplifier. We achieve a minimum gain of up to +3dB as compared to a stock OEM untuned antenna since our antennas have a much lower VSWR value and more useable transmitter output power. A gain of +3dB will effectively double your transmit and receive power. All reworked internal connections are silver soldered for best RF conductivity.  The outer antenna covering is made of black flexible PVC and the antenna has a bottom weather skirt to protect the SMA RF connection on the radio.  The bottom of the antenna is color coded for each frequency range variation.
