Wireless kit for the Powermac G5 (late 2005) PowerMac11,2 Quadcore Dualcore A1117 This is a substitute f or the expensive and hard to come by, Airport/Bluetooth circuit board and card that is normally required, which is referred to as a "Runway card 820-1830-A 630-7054"; or "MA252G/A Apple AirPort Extreme/Bluetooth Upgrade Kit" Note this kit includes the Airport wifi card that was for the prior Power Mac G5s, along with an appropriate antenna, and will not provide Bluetooth capability. The antenna wires inside the A1117 do not work with this older card, yet this older card slides right into the slot of the A1117. Specifications for the card can be found at. https://www.cnet.com/products/airport-extreme-card/ Over 25 times now I've sold this kit to customers with this desktop model, and they have been successful in obtaining wireless with their Mac. Some customers were so happy, they have taken the effort to send me pictures of their installation. The fourth picture of the inside of what a mac looked like after installation of the kit is one such picture. A flash light can aid in aligning the pins into the slot. As can be seen in this fourth picture, the card inserts with the antenna connection on the left. It must installed just as shown for the computer to start. Also, its important to keep the antenna wire away from the computer's internal components, such as by taping to the perforated side. The Apple Airport Card of this kit was the one used by the all the prior models of Powermac G5, but with the introduction of Bluetooth in the last model, the internal antenna wires no longer work, yet the socket for the card can still accepts and functions with this prior WiFi-only card. So being there needs to be another antenna wire which can connect to this previously used Airport card. This additional antenna wire is included in the kit, and is from another Apple computer. While many many people have been exceptionally happy with this kit , because one person had difficulty using the kit, I feel need to make it perfectly clear , that by buying and using this kit you are doing so completely at your own risk . I test each kit carefully to receive a WiFi signal, using another Mac. Picture is of the very few of these I have, at times white antenna wire shown in the picture may be a different in appearance (yet functionally the same). That's about all I can tell you, and if you don't need Bluetooth, this will likely make your wallet very happy .
